What will your typical day look like?
No two days will be the same, but the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of formal and informal restructurings, which may involve taking possession of assets, operating insolvent businesses, preparing and monitoring cash flow forecasts, undertaking strategic options analysis, reporting to Court, lenders and other parties, performing various financial analysis to help assess the viability of companies, and dealing with stakeholders through periods of crisis.
You will be responsible for managing a team on projects and will interact with lenders, business owners and management teams to develop options to resolve various financial challenges. You will also participate in the development of proposals and presentations to clients and carry out industry research.
As part of this role, you will also be expected to pursue the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (“CIRP”) designation and work towards becoming a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Alternatively, you will possess an equivalent accreditation in another jurisdiction.

Turnaround, Restructuring Services & Cost Transformation (“TRCT”) is a national Deloitte practice providing professional services to owners, lenders, management and regulators of challenged and under-performing businesses.

Are you someone with:
- An undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials
- A CPA (or successful CFE writer waiting to qualify as a CPA)
- 2 to 5 years of relevant insolvency or turnaround experience
- A familiarity with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, and other relevant legislation
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word skills
- Proven analytical skills and a history of systematic problem solving and a willingness to bring innovative solutions to restructuring problems
- Strong interpersonal and interview skills, particularly in crisis situations
- Flexibility for mobility for out-of-town assignments
- Professional flexibility to support valuation, forensic, corporate finance, transaction services, value creation services or other deal needs
- A desire for new experiences and constant growth
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $86,000 - $144,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Deloitte is fair and competitive when it comes to the salaries of our people.
