Job Title: Data Scientist – Aerospace Manufacturing
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Job Summary
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Aerospace Manufacturing team. This role will involve using data analytics and machine learning to optimize production processes, improve product quality, and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will leverage data to generate insights, forecast trends, and support decision-making to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyze large sets of manufacturing data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, improving product quality and operational efficiency.
- Machine Learning & Predictive Analytics: Develop machine learning models for predictive maintenance, defect detection, and production optimization.
- Process Optimization: Use data-driven insights to propose and implement process improvements across the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Data Visualization: Create dashboards and data visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to align on data-driven goals and solutions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document data models, processes, and key findings, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in data science, ideally within a manufacturing or aerospace context.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and experience with machine learning libraries.
- Knowledge of SQL, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Hiring Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check suitable for employment with Controlled Goods.
- May be required to submit for other background checks including: credit, criminal, or other.
