The salary range for this position is:

- Recruitment range: $62,989- $69,444 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
- Performance range: $81,896 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

The GE Events and Marketing Coordinator (EMC) will work closely with the External Engagement Manager and the Associate Director, Global Partnerships to support marketing, outreach and engagement initiatives. This includes event coordination and marketing, creating a range of marketing materials as well as communications related to OGE activities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Proposing, developing and implementing digital content and marketing materials to support events and activities
- Coordinating event projects from initial planning stages through completion
- Evaluating effectiveness of marketing tools, events and activities

As a result of the nature of the duties and responsibilities of this position, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a communications-related field. Equivalent combinations of training, education and/or experience may be considered.

At least two years of related work experience is required, including:

- Experience in event management and/or marketing;
- Experience managing, developing and implementing virtual and in-person events;
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating event and marketing materials;
- Experience copywriting for both print and web, experience with web content management, and fundamentals of good photography, web and video content;
- Graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator), and advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite of products.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

- Knowledge of event planning, conceptual thinking, visual conceptualization, with ability to apply that knowledge to communication and events projects;
- Knowledge of events project management, planning, client communication, print collateral, publications and electronic media;
- Understanding of the principles of good design in print and multimedia materials and how to work effectively within established organizational design structures;
- Knowledge of effective practices in international education and ability to adjust to multiple cultural, ethnic and linguistic environments.

Competencies should include:

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse team;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain connections across units/departments;
- Strong entrepreneurial ability, demonstrates initiative and creativity in problem-solving;
- Excellent skills in building interpersonal relations and trust;
- Excellent marketing and promotion skills to engage and inspire multiple stakeholders on campus.

In addition, this position requires:

- Excellent communication and consensus-building, conflict management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise a high level of diplomacy and intercultural competence.
- Superior organizational skills, and a proven ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

Additional Assets:

- Personal experience studying, working, and living abroad an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct effective, in-depth research and to critically analyze results.
- Proficiency in a second language.
