Purpose of Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Facilities, perform Journeyman Red Seal level mechanical and electrical work in the inspection, diagnosis, servicing, installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for Brandon School Division buildings and facilities. Operates, monitors, adjusts, and maintains the computerized building management control system.

Duties and Responsibilities

Are established by the Supervisor of Facilities within the parameters of the job description.

Required Qualifications

- A minimum of Manitoba Gas Fitter's 'B' License.
- A minimum of Limited Electrical Class M License.
- MOPIA Certification.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in servicing, installing, troubleshooting refrigeration, heating and air conditioning systems and components (including, but not limited to: chillers, boilers, air handing units, fan coils, heat pumps, gas equipment, unit heaters, air makeups, pumps, air dryers, air compressors as well as packaged air conditioning systems).
- A minimum of five (5) years experience with building automation systems.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in control systems such as Direct Digital Controls, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatic devices and systems including troubleshooting and performing on-board diagnostics tests of electronic and solid-state devices.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in commercial building heating and cooling systems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with other trades and Division employees.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under own initiative.
- Class 5 Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

- Working knowledge of relevant Brandon School Division Policies and Procedures.
- Any other trade experience is considered an asset.

What we offer:

- Competitive Wages (2025 rates dependent on experience and qualifications)

Rate of pay: $45.48 - $48.24 per hour

$94,959 - $100,723 annually
