Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Manufacturing & Production
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Manufacturing & Production, the Production Supervisor will utilize their trade experience, leadership and communication skills to lead daily cell activities/production requirements, while collaborating with other internal teams as necessary. The right candidate is a self-starter with creative ideas, a positive and proactive attitude, and experience or skills in leveraging a full range of leadership tools.
Reports To: Senior Manager - Manufacturing & Production, MPT Waterloo
Essential Functions:
1. Supervise workforce, monitor their attendance, payroll, timecards.
2. Manage the production schedule with a focus on work-flow, machine downtime, lead times and customer priorities. Monitor operations to enhance productivity, effectiveness and efficiencies with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
3. Assist with team member/operator onboarding, training, development and coaching. Lead and facilitate problem-solving/process improvement activities.
4. Take an active role in the MPT's lean initiatives and help with continuous improvement projects throughout the shop.
5. Partner with the Safety Specialist and the EH&S team to ensure safe use of equipment and safety practices are followed in the manufacturing/production environment. Ensure documentation is completed as necessary and help educate teams on changes in compliance related to areas such as occupational health and safety and/or Ontario employment standards.
6. Support the creation of cell metrics and lead daily management process within the department to manage work effectively and communicate on any issues or challenges that arise.
7. Share ideas and participate in identifying efficiency issues and suggests for improvements.
8. Support/manage special projects as required by management.
9. Other duties, as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct reports will include team members defined within the department/functional area, and may include up to ten (10) reports (will vary by department).
Organizational Relationships:
Must interface effectively and regularly with all internal employees, and may regularly connect with cross functional operational areas such as Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, etc.

Education and/or Experience:
1. High school diploma, with a trade degree/diploma being an asset or equivalent operations experience.
2. 3-5 years' experience in a previous manufacturing/production supervisory role.
3. Knowledge/experience in the trade related to the supervisory department.
4. Willingness to work in a Player/Coach environment and participate in daily work.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Language Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communications required in English. Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all operation areas in the organization.

1. Able to function in high energy, fast paced environment.
2. Excellent at managing priorities, multi-tasking and deliver against deadlines.
3. Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
