Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Event Steward An Event Steward is a pivotal role to the success and smooth running of an event day. You will be assisting all departments with the operational, logistical and safety elements. You will support the event team and act as the point of contact in case of an emergency. Ultimately, you'll ensure our venues are safe and inviting.
Access to private transport is essential.
Working hours will include weekend and evening work.
The Role
- Greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Managing car parks during an event
- Showing guests to their bedrooms and assistant with luggage
- Ensuring the safety of guests
- Assisting with emergency situations such as first aid and fire procedures
- Patrol the site for security checks
- Setting up rooms and moving furniture around the site
- Keeping all guest areas safe and presentable at all times
- Completing and filing incident reports
- Follow the venue policies, procedures and service standards
- Fix minor technical issues (e.g. changing light bulbs)
- Report damages, liaising with the maintenance manager and monitor repairs
- Responsible for checking all appliances onsite for example; outside heaters, PA systems, air conditioning etc
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer facing role
- Experience in events or hospitality is desirable
- Experience working in a busy environment
Skills and Qualities
- Solid verbal communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to use own initiative
- Timekeeping and promptness
- Ability to work well within a team environment
