3551 - Cheer Squad - Coldest Night of the Year 2026 Location: Goal Since 1995, The Dam has been working alongside youth to build an inclusive community where everyone is welcomed, valued, and respected. These programmes are designed to help young people Belong, Connect, and Lead throughout the year. Our Drop‑In Spaces are open to youth ages 13‑19, with off‑site mentoring available up to age 25. The Dam plays a vital role in the Mississauga community, and we are proud to be an active and engaged resource for local youth. Description Volunteer with Us for a Great Cause Every year, during the third week of February, in the heart of a Canadian winter, thousands of people come together to give back to local charities. This national fundraising campaign takes place in over 200 locations across Canada, all on the same night. The Dam was proud to be the first charity in Mississauga to participate in this event. The funds raised by generous Mississaugans (and even some from beyond our city) are essential to keeping our doors open. Last year alone, 3,000 youth visited our locations, with a daily average of 170 The Dam is making a significant impact on the lives of local youth, with 92% reporting a positive effect on their lives. This is especially meaningful when you consider that 43% of these youth self‑report struggling with mental health, with an additional 16% having a medical diagnosis.
