POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is one of the few stand-alone, global leaders in Pediatric Health and is home to over 400 staff and Physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. They are currently looking for a full-time Psychologist to offer services to the Mental Health Consultation Liaison service. Services include cognitive, behavioural, and social-emotional assessment, diagnostic formulation, consultation-liaison, and intervention. The Psychologist will be part of an interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison (CL) health care team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Provide comprehensive psychological assessments focusing on diagnostic formulation, diagnosis, and understanding the relationship between health and mental health issues.
2. Offer consultation and treatment services to both inpatients and outpatients with medical or surgical conditions. Liaise with other health care professionals regarding assessment findings and management implications.
3. Coordinate with community services, Intake, and Young Minds Partnership at the hospital. Supervise and train pre-doctoral psychology interns and provide learning opportunities for students in training.
4. Assist with program evaluation and participate in developing research projects reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the clinical services.
5. Collaborate with fellow Psychologists to ensure coverage during vacations and busy periods.
6. Perform other mental health duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited program (Essential)
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist in Ontario (Essential)
- Designated practice as a psychologist in Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)
- Experience in health psychology (Preferred)
- Experience in comprehensive psychological assessments for pediatric medical and mental health populations (Essential)
- Experience providing short-term interventions to children with complex conditions (Essential)
- Experience with crisis intervention (Essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with health professionals (Essential)
- Bilingual in French and English (Preferred)
