Senior BI Developer

Intelcom’s Business Intelligence (BI) team is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to help develop innovative solutions that will elevate the organization’s data democratization and support business growth by assisting stakeholders in evolving their reporting needs.

You will join a team undergoing transformation, actively modernizing its practices and implementing foundational initiatives to better serve the many users who rely on its work daily.

The primary mission of the data analysis squad is to design intuitive and high-performing reports that meet the growing demand for data analysis from various perspectives. Supported by the data engineering squad, which ensures the evolution of our modern data platform and data structures to make data consumable, the data analysis team delivers actionable insights in formats that facilitate decision-making and operational execution.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the BI Team Lead , your roles and responsibilities will include:

Leadership :

Act as a subject matter expert within the team and with external teams on data and analytical products

Advise stakeholders on the best ways to use data to meet their needs

Collaborate with the data engineering team to design coherent end-to-end solutions that deliver innovative results

Train and mentor report developers, both within the BI team and in business units developing their own solutions

Data Analysis :

Analyze and interpret complex source datasets to uncover data transformation strategies, insights, and actionable trends

Develop and maintain performance indicators to measure business activity

BI Development :

Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions through intuitive and visually appealing interfaces

Create custom visuals to enhance the user experience of BI team reports

Design and prototype datasets to build robust, high-performance solutions for large data volumes

Document BI solutions to ensure sustainability and facilitate communication with users and other developers

Participate in code reviews, ensure code quality, and promote a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team

Best Practices, Support, and Stakeholder Management :

Analyze client needs and translate them into detailed specifications for implementation

Help the squad evolve its practices to deliver higher-quality analytical products more efficiently

Support report users in usage, troubleshooting, and interpreting the data presented

Contribute to establishing good data governance practices, including documentation, cataloging, and end-to-end data lineage, to enhance data literacy within the team

Technical skills and background :

7 to 10 years of experience in business intelligence projects

At least 7 years as a functional analyst, data analyst, or BI developer

Academic degree in a related field (Analytics, Business Analysis, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.)

Excellent command of SQL and experience with relational databases

Good knowledge of ETL/ELT principles, data modeling standards, and integration

Expertise in Power BI or similar tools (e.g., Tableau)

Proficiency in data storytelling and UI/UX design concepts applied to BI

Experience with the following is an asset:

Data modeling methodologies applied to BI
