We are seeking an Associate Benefits Consultant to join our team in Toronto.

As part of a dedicated, professional team, you will provide consulting services to and manage projects for medium and large clients. You will leverage your experience as a benefits expert to make recommendations on plan design, pricing and delivery of group benefit programs. You will participate, collaborate, and support the team and Benefits Consultant(s) in delivering impactful solutions to clients.

The Associate Benefits Consultant will:

1. Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability and special risk benefits for clients; including:

1. Develop and implement strategies and activities to support client retention

2. Identify the client's group insurance risks and recommend appropriate plan design and cost mitigation strategies.

3. Assess, negotiate, write reports and prepare presentations relating to group renewals

4. Assess, negotiate and prepare reports/presentations for marketing and peer review of quote comparisons;

5. Be accountable for the smooth transition of benefits to new carriers ensuring any client risk and exposure is mitigated (i.e. plan mapping, member coverage, communication);

6. Price and analyze costings including assessment and analysis of alternative funding arrangements;

2. Act as "second chair" for medium to large clients
3. Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables
4. Develop annual client plans to ensure clients are receiving value-added service and that the work being produced aligns with client goals and objectives
5. Participate in client calls and meetings as appropriate and assist with the preparation of presentations, documents, etc.
6. Manage client expectations and effectively deal with concerns or issues
7. Mentor analysts/technical staff and other team members as needed and peer review work

Other responsibilities may also include, as needed:

1. Assist on specific projects, initiatives and research;
2. Support new business/sales initiatives
3. Continuing education to maintain a high level of knowledge of employee benefit legislation, administrative issues, plan rules, claim management and client specific procedures
4. Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. in order to promote services and keep abreast of industry trends and activities
5. Represent People Corporation in the market and be a successful brand ambassador.
6. Maintain an expert knowledge of the complete line of People Corporation products and services.
7. Foster and develop positive supplier relations to enable strong partnerships for your clients
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, shared services, practice areas, etc. across the organization.

To be successful as an Associate Benefits Consultant with People Corporation, you will need:

1. 5+ years' progressive experience in group benefits in a client-facing or consulting capacity providing strategic and innovative solutions to clients' complex benefits challenges
2. Deep expertise and understanding of the group benefits industry including funding arrangements and flex programs
3. Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills
4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
5. A positive attitude and strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholders
6. A solution and results-oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills
7. Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely manner
8. Proficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technology
9. Completion of or the ability to complete the Life License Qualification Program (within 90 days of joining)
10. Availability to travel on an as-needed basis
11. Valid Driver's License and Vehicle

All-star candidates will have:

1. Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or CEBS designation or currently working towards it
2. Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)
