Shuttle Buggy Operator

This is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of a Shuttle Buggy/ MTV.

Duties & Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:

1. Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics, and the limitations of the machine.
2. Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
3. Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
4. Must receive and execute directions from the Paving Foreman or Superintendent.
5. Must operate the transfer machine in coordination with the dump man and Paver Operator to match the material inflow, on-board storage and material discharge to the paver to meet the prescribed mix and laydown goals, facilitating non-stop paving.
6. Must safely operate equipment in and in the midst of active traffic.
7. Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations of the machine in all applications.
8. Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
9. Must perform pre- and post-operation walk around inspections and report any mechanical issues that need more attention by maintenance personnel.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 1 Year experience operating a MTV/Shuttle Buggy.
2. Minimum 3 years' experience in road construction.
3. Preferably a member of Local 793.
4. Experience working in and around Heavy construction equipment.
5. Must have a Valid G License.
6. Must be able to Lift up to 50 Lbs.
7. Must be willing to work Day, Night, and Weekend shifts.
