GARDENWORKS Nanaimo is looking for an energetic and passionate gardening enthusiast who is customer service focused and enjoys sharing knowledge with others This is a lead position mentoring under the Department Manager.

Job type: Full time 40 hours per week. Salary: $21.00 – 24.00/hr

Overview of role:

- Building sales and supporting the GARDENWORKS Brand by providing outstanding service to our guests
- Sharing your gardening knowledge - informing guests about care & maintenance of their plants, asking questions to help solve gardening concerns
- Assisting in the execution of the product flow process, including receiving, pricing, preparing product for floor, and final placement - ensuring product meets our quality standards

Is this you?

- A passion for what we do – connecting people to nature and growing
- Solid knowledge of trees & shrubs, including proper growing and maintenance requirements
- 3+ years customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting
- Strong organization skills; self-directed, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strength in Microsoft Excel, and utilizing our POS system for sales reporting
- You believe in fostering a positive and respectful workplace - listening, looking for solutions and encouraging open communication among the team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays as seasonal peaks require, including store opening and closing responsibilities
- This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift to 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments
- Forklift certification or willingness to go through our in-house training program
