Accountant

We are looking for a driven Accountant to join a team in the Finance sector located in Barrie.

Responsibilities

- Managing and maintaining accurate general ledgers, including posting journal entries, and performing monthly and year-end close procedures

- Performing timely and accurate reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.

- Assisting with the preparation of working papers and financial statements for Notice to Reader (NTR) engagements for various clients.

- Supporting the firm during tax season by assisting with the preparation of T1 (personal) and T2 (corporate) tax returns.

- Interacting with clients to gather necessary information, answer routine inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service.

- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and assisting with administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function

- A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.

- Experience processing Canadian payroll is a great asset.

- Experience preparing and filing corporate and personal tax returns is a great asset.
