Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Construction Specialist to join our team In this role you will get to manage and oversee large-scale construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.

This role requires a highly experienced leader with a deep understanding of construction processes, project management, and team leadership. The Senior Construction Specialist will drive project success through strategic planning, problem-solving, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll be Doing:

1. Lead the planning, design, and execution of large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
2. Oversee all phases of the project, from initial conception to completion, ensuring that the project aligns with client specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
3. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and efficient execution.
4. Manage and mentor a team of construction specialists, engineers, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
5. Provide guidance and training to junior staff, helping them develop their skills and grow within the company.
6. Conduct regular performance evaluations, set team goals, and ensure resources are properly allocated to meet project needs.
7. Oversee the development and management of project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial constraints.
8. Review and approve project expenditures, contracts, and vendor negotiations.
9. Monitor ongoing costs and identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining project quality and scope.
10. Ensure that construction work adheres to all applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards, including local building codes and safety requirements.
11. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure work is being performed to the highest standards of quality.
12. Address any quality control issues, discrepancies, or delays in a timely manner to avoid project disruptions.
13. Identify potential risks to the project, including safety hazards, scheduling conflicts, and material shortages, and develop mitigation strategies.
14. Ensure that all construction activities comply with workplace safety regulations and environmental standards.
15. Lead safety meetings and conduct regular safety audits on-site to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
16. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, senior management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
17. Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, issues, or changes that arise.
18. Prepare and present detailed project reports, including timelines, budgets, and risk assessments, to senior leadership and stakeholders.
19. Develop, review, and maintain the project schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and that any delays are promptly addressed.
20. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure that all aspects of the project remain on schedule.
21. Resolve scheduling conflicts and address delays in a manner that minimizes impact on the overall project timeline.
22. Integrate sustainable construction practices and green building standards into the project when applicable.
23. Explore and implement innovative construction methods or technologies to improve project efficiency and sustainability.
24. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in construction, recommending improvements where relevant.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, CCM) are preferred.
2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior role overseeing large-scale or complex projects.
3. Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
4. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, engineers, and vendors.
5. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
6. Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, schedule, and execute projects efficiently.
7. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate teams.
8. Advanced proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
9. Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
10. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
11. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accreditation, or Construction Management (CCM).
12. Experience in managing international or large-scale infrastructure projects.
13. Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application in construction projects.
14. Expertise in sustainable building practices and environmental regulations.
15. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts efficiently.
