Role Description

Reporting to the Estimating Manager , the Senior Estimator will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids for commercial, residential and industrial projects.

Overview

- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine scope and requirements.
- Obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop project budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and consultants to ensure alignment with project expectations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry costs, materials, and market trends.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial and industrial sectors.
- PQS or equivalent designation
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Codes, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Plan Swift, Timberline, or equivalent).
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
