What We OfferWe offer a range of employee benefits and services for eligible positions, to support you at every stage of your career:• Employee & Family Assistance Program• Employer paid training/education opportunities• Generous Vacation Entitlement• Employer Paid Health Benefits• Municipal Pension Plan• Shift Premiums• Competitive wages About the JobLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN):• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population• Under the direction and supervision of a physician/nurse practitioner (NP), provides orthopaedic care by performing duties such as assessing and evaluating patient condition; reviewing x-rays to confirm plan of care; applying casts and splints; removing externally exposed pins, wires, staples and sutures; setting up traction equipment and performs related orthopaedic duties• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocolsThis is a Permanent Full Time opportunity. Shifts of work will be scheduled days, Monday to Friday rotating from 08:00 to 16:00, 09:00 to 17:00 hours. About this Location Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital provides hospital services to residents of the Kootenay Boundary Health Service Area. Services include 24-hour emergency services, intensive care, general surgery, obstetrics, renal, and psychiatry as well as this 30 bed acute medical unit. Trail is situated on the Columbia River in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia.
