Position Overview
We are seeking a Compensation Specialist for an 8‑month contract in Cambridge, ON. The role provides an opportunity to transition to a permanent position within a growing organization.
Location
On‑site, Cambridge, ON – hybrid. Remote work is considered for qualified candidates not within driving distance.
Consideration would be made for the right candidate for fully remote work if the candidate is not in driving distance to the Cambridge location.
Your Day to Day as our Compensation Specialist
- Conduct job evaluations for new and revised roles using the Mercer IPE point‑factor system, providing recommendations to management.
- Oversee governance of the Canadian non‑union job evaluation process, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Analyze market salary survey data to monitor competitiveness and prepare submissions for third‑party surveys.
- Administer pay programs including annual salary reviews and incentive plans, ensuring accurate system setup and data validation.
- Review and process requests for pay actions, promotions, and salary equity adjustments, ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
- Provide guidance on pay equity legislation, ESA requirements, and other compliance obligations.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to offer insights on total rewards during the hiring process.
- Develop and maintain compensation‑related policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Support special projects, compensation‑related reporting, and organizational structure improvements.
- Stay current with legislative changes and industry trends to ensure compensation programs remain effective and compliant.
Required Qualifications
Working towards a CHRL designation and/or CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) preferred.
3+ years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Intermediate knowledge of compensation administration and practices is required.
Previous experience with Mercer IPE point‑factor job evaluation system and job architecture experience OR Korn‑Ferry point‑factor job evaluation.
Experience and/or knowledge of provincial (Ontario) and Federal Pay Equity Legislation an asset.
Proven analytical abilities for evaluation purposes and analysis of survey materials.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with PowerPoint.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $100,000 per year. The total compensation package may include other elements such as an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
