Our client, is a leading Engineering, Procurement, Construction Company with expertise in oil sands, refining, petrochemicals and pipeline segments and covers both operational and engineering aspects.

Currently we are recruiting for;

Intermediate-Senior Electrical Designers

You are a motivated self-starter and team contributor with at least five years progressive Electrical Design experience, within an EPC environment [Industrial / Oilsands]. You also bring the following skills and experience to the team:

COMPETENCIES

- Knowledge and proficiency reading and preparing electrical deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring diagrams, electrical heat tracing isometrics, panel schedules, cable schedules, etc.) for new and upgraded installations.
- Prepare, verify and implement electrical design calculations such as voltage drop, cable sizing, cable tray loading, conduit fill, electrical heat tracing, etc.
- Codes and Standards: Knowledge and proficiency with the Canadian Electrical Code and proficiency in using its rules and tables is a must. Knowledge of other regulatory and industry codes and standards is an asset.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Microstation; experience with Autoplant and other 3D modeling software is an asset. Smartplant experience an asset but not required. Must be comfortable working in a 3D environment and reviewing models.
- Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment.
- Determines cable and raceway requirements
- Prepares cable and raceway schedules
- Prepares MV/LV motor control schematics, control panel layouts and panel board schedules.
- Prepares Area Classification Drawings

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Technical school diploma in a related field with minimum 5 years of related design experience within an oil sands or a large-scale petro-chemical setting.
- C.Tech, C.E.T. in Electrical Engineering Technology;
- Previous EPC experience required;
- Motivated, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision.
