What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Site Engineer, you will oversee daily construction activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and within project guidelines. You will coordinate with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and site workers, to ensure seamless execution. Your role will require critical thinking skills to address on-site challenges and maintain compliance with Canadian building codes and safety regulations. Additionally, you will manage site documentation, conduct inspections, and communicate progress updates to senior management.

What You'll Do:

- Checks and inspects construction activities, operations, and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Conducts site surveys, confirms the scope of work, obtains relevant information, equipment, and materials, and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completed.
- Performs all required construction tests including granular density test with nuclear gauge, dowel pull test, and concrete tests, as required.
- Compiles field/test data in a report form for review by the Project Manager.
- Liaises/coordinates with service providers for specialized inspections and/or testing to ensure the tasks are completed in accordance with the terms of reference, specifications, or agreement.
- Attends site meetings as required.
- Obtains video / photographic records as required.
- Records, reviews, and addresses contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractor.
- Reports to the Contract Administrator and / or the Project Manager.
- Perform record drawing tasks in accordance with PEO guidelines.
- Receives general direction on key objectives, and guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex issues and direction on modified techniques and approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
- Assigns tasks to and directs staff. Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of team members' work.

What You'll Need:

- Must be a P.Eng with PEO
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site engineering, preferably in the civil construction industry.
- Possess the ability to meet deadlines independently and under pressure.
- Familiar with field construction activities.
- Able to work on weekends and nights, as required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office and the related software.
- A valid Ontario driver's license (G License) (Please provide a copy of the License along with the signed Offer Letter)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new aspects of the industry.
- A willingness to travel throughout Ontario is a requirement of this position.
- Climbing up/down embankments, ladders, and stairs is a requirement for this position.
- Lifting to 50 lbs. is a requirement for this position.
