JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Head of ETF Strategy, the ETF Strategist will be a significant contributor to the overall growth of CI Global Asset Management's (CI GAM) ETF business.

The ETF Strategist will be responsible for communicating investment philosophies, process, and ongoing product updates to CI GAM's distribution team, clients & partners. The role will act as a vital resource to our distribution team to further enable the growth of our ETF strategy. This will include collaboration with wholesaling teams and identifying unique opportunities by providing ETF expertise regarding industry trends, competitor intelligence, CI GAM ETF offerings, and portfolio implementation ideas. The role will also represent CI GAM at industry events, as well as participating in speaking engagements internally and externally.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Sales Support & Enablement

- Develop relationships with CI GAM's distribution team and assist in the sales process by acting as a subject matter expert on CI GAM's ETF suite.
- Build, maintain and communicate an advanced level of knowledge on CI GAM's ETF suite.
- Help identify opportunities to increase ETF sales.
- Timely and relevant creation of ETF trade ideas and thought leadership to support the distribution team.
- Assist in the creation or updates to ETF marketing pieces, sales decks and other collaterals that will be used by the distribution team.
- Assist in monthly and quarterly tasks (i.e., Sales tools update, trade ideas, pitch decks, performance updates, etc.).

Subject Matter Expert

- Educate and promote CI GAM ETF's investment philosophy, process, performance, and competitive strengths to clients.
- Provide education to a wide range of retail clients with varying degrees of knowledge on ETF products and related capital markets information.
- Participate in client meetings, seminars, conference calls and other meetings (virtual and in person) and provide a high level of product expertise.
- Represent CI GAM at internal and external events.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be involved in other aspects of the development of CI GAM's ETF business.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

- The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of either ETFs, capital markets, or strong understanding of the Canadian asset management industry.
- 5+ years investment related experience with specific subject matter expertise in ETFs preferred.
- Completion of 4-year post-secondary degree, ideally with a business focus (Finance, Economics and/or Accounting).
- CIM, CFP, CAIA, CFA designation or an MBA degree is preferred.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication capabilities; excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, build strong relationships and drive sales.
- Strong technical skills with high level of expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Morningstar, and Bloomberg preferred.
- Bilingual (French and English) will be preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Periodic travel required.
