Salary Information:

- Early Childhood Assistant: $40,950/year ($21/hour)
- Early Learning Facilitator: $44,850/year ($23/hour)
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE): Salary based on position and time portion.

In this role, you will:

- Provide quality compassionate care and support to children and their families.
- Build positive relationships with children and keep parents updated on their child’s progress.
- Be a creative play partner who actively engages with the children.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times.
- Comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures.
- Observe and document children’s development and interactions.
- Assist with diapering and toileting.
- Clean and sanitize child care spaces, toys, and equipment; Prepare and serve food following health and safety protocols.
- Assist with meal prep and follow food safety guidelines.
- Attend required training and maintain qualifications and certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

You bring:

For Registered Early Childhood Educator:

- An Early Childhood Educator Diploma.
- Registered (or in process) and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).

For Early Learning Facilitator:

- Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Work, Education, Social Work, or related fields.
- Must be registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers if holding a Bachelor of Education.

For Early Childhood Assistant:

- High School Diploma.

General Qualifications:

- Minimum of six months’ experience working with young children.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification prior to the first day of work.
- Food Handlers Certificate.
- Knowledge of Food Safety in the workplace.
- Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health.
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bend and stoop.
- Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round.
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
