The location in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Human Resources Assistant. This job is full-time permanent.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate recruitment activities for the HR Manager and HR Advisor including booking interviews, scheduling testing, booking travel arrangements for candidates, and arranging tours.
2. Work with the Training Coordinator on new hire orientation.
3. Compile minutes from various meetings (Joint Occupational Health & Safety, Standing Committee, etc.).
4. Provide general HR support and advice regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
5. Update Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including adding new jobs, screening applications, updating progress, and closing jobs as required.
6. Maintain employee data in HRIS system including updating employee information and running reports.
7. Act as backup to the Payroll Advisor as required.
8. Assist the HR Manager and HR Advisor in organizing annual processes such as performance reviews and salary increases.
9. Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and the Mill Manager.
10. Support a variety of HR projects, assist in the composition of materials including presentations, memoranda, correspondence, and other communications in a timely and accurate manner.
11. Maintain the HR department's files ensuring filing is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
12. Promote and provide a safe workplace and support the health and safety program.
13. Maintain and update employee communications including social media, bulletin boards, and TV monitors.
14. Coordinate site visits and events.
Qualifications
1. Professional (CHRP) designation is considered an asset.
2. Minimum of two to three years of related Human Resources experience, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment.
3. Thorough knowledge of current Human Resources Management practices and knowledge of provincial and federal legislation governing employers' Human Resources practices.
4. Proficient using Microsoft Office including: Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel (including ability to develop and use formulas), MS PowerPoint, database programs, and internet applications and tools at an intermediate level.
5. Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to exercise confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment as required.
8. Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
9. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze numerical data, draw logical inferences, and provide reasonable recommendations.
10. Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate with others.
11. Ability to establish and maintain supportive working relationships.
12. Proven ability to be flexible, confident, and self-motivated.
13. Ability to deal with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner.
The salary for this position is CAD $65-80k per year. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
