We are hiring for a number of casual positions. Must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week, with at least 1 shift on the weekend.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Residential Care Workers assist people who live in a variety of residential settings to enhance their quality of life by providing opportunities for independence, learning, and self-expression. These opportunities will reflect and respect personal preferences and choices of the people served. The responsibilities of this position include ensuring that people's physical, emotional, social, and medical needs are met. Residential Care Workers provide support and advocacy for all persons to participate as full members of the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Diploma in Human Services or Community Support Worker or equivalent

- Two years of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges

- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Support techniques, knowledge, and experience in skill-based training

- Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families

- Experience with assisting people with a variety of personal care needs is an asset

- Experience operating mechanical lifts and assisting people with a variety of personal care needs is an asset

- Class 5 Driver's License

- Class 4 Driver's License is an asset

- Required to use personal vehicle

- Current Community Care First Aid/CPR, NVCI, Food Safe certificates

- This position requires BCGEU union membership
