The ideal candidate is a hands on technologist with deep expertise across the Java ecosystem and a strong background in building scalable secure and high performance microservices. Banking domain experience is highly desirable with additional exposure to XML JSON and messaging technologies.This role involves collaborating with cross functional teams influencing design decisions ensuring code quality and contributing to the stability and performance of mission critical applications within a highly regulated financial environment.Key Responsibilities:Application Development ArchitectureDesigning developing and maintaining enterprise grade applications using Core Java Spring Spring Boot and HibernateBuilding and optimizing RESTful microservices that are scalable secure and resilientImplementing Kafka based integrations including producers consumers and streaming pipelinesWriting clean maintainable and unit tested code using JUnit and best development practicesCICD Automation DeploymentWorking with CICD pipelines to automate build test and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins GitLab CI or Azure DevOpsParticipating in code reviews architecture discussions and DevOps integration activitiesPerforming troubleshooting performance tuning and production support when requiredDatabase ScriptingDesigning and optimizing queries in DB2 or PostgreSQL including schema updates and performance improvementsLeveraging Unix Shell Scripting for automation job scheduling and operational tasksCollaboration Stakeholder ManagementWorking closely with QA teams business analysts product owners and architects to deliver high quality solutionsProviding technical mentorship to junior developers and participating in knowledge sharing sessionsEnsuring compliance with organizational standards security guidelines and banking regulatory requirementsRequired Skills Qualifications:7 years of proven hands on experience in Core Java, Java 8 preferredSpring, Spring BootHibernate, JPARESTful microservicesKafka integration and message streamingJUnit and unit testing frameworksCICD tools and automationDB2PostgreSQLUnix Shell ScriptingStrong understanding of microservices design principles distributed systems and cloud ready application developmentExperience working in Agile, Scrum environmentsExcellent analytical debugging and problem solving skillsPreferred Nice to Have Skills:Banking or financial services domain experienceFamiliarity with XML and JSON based integration and data transformationExposure to messaging technologies API gateways or cloud platformsKnowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration frameworks like KubernetesSoft Skills Competencies:Strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work in a fast paced high pressure environmentOwnership mindset with the ability to drive solutions end to endAbility to mentor and guide junior team membersEducation:Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related technical disciplineThe base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: CAD $90,000 - $93,000/AnnumCapgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
