Child Care Assistant

We have 3 locations with 70+ employees. This specific position is at our Riverbend location, which is attached to the elementary school. We are looking for someone to be flexible as you would be working with all ages. We consider this position to be a float position. You would work 9:30-6:00. A majority of your day will be spent in the preschool space and 2 hours in school age. We believe in the benefits of being outside, so we spend a large amount of time in our play yard, fields, and out in the community. We also follow an Emergent Curriculum program and incorporate Pedagogy components into our rooms. We have a separate private staff room for you to utilize during your breaks and planning. SNS values continuous learning and offers excellent Professional Development group workshops.

We believe in our teammates and plan fun staff events, offering other extra incentives. We have 10 meetings a year, after work hours, and overtime is provided for these staff meetings. Blue Cross benefits will be provided after 3 months.

The Ideal Candidate Is

We are looking for someone to join our fun, enthusiastic, and innovative team. Some traits we are looking for include an individual who is energetic, flexible, nurturing, and creative. You would be working with children ages 2.5 years to school age. Previous experience with all or most of these ages would be beneficial.

A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Continuous verbal and written communication is extremely important and needs to be clear with co-workers, all children, and their families. You must have a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry. Current First Aid/CPR certification would also be beneficial.

The position is permanent and to begin as soon as possible. If you are offered the position, you will be working an 8.5 hour day, with a 1-hour lunch break, half of which is paid. You will also have a 15-minute coffee break.
