At Seequent, we help organisations to understand the underground, giving the confidence to make better decisions faster. We build world‑leading technology that is at the front‑line of Earth sciences, transforming the way our customers work. Every day we help them develop critical mineral resources more sustainably, design and build better infrastructure, source renewable energy, and reduce their impact on the environment. We operate in 145+ countries while proudly maintaining headquarters in New Zealand.
The Role
Join Seequent’s Energy team and help shape the future of subsurface modeling.
As a Project Geoscientist, you’ll work directly with clients to solve complex geoscience challenges using cutting‑edge software like Leapfrog Energy, Oasis Montaj, and Volsung. You’ll be part of a global technical services team, collaborating across time zones and disciplines to deliver impactful solutions. A Project Geoscientist is building towards advanced level expertise on the workflows facilitated by Seequent Solutions for fast, accurate, subsurface model building and stakeholder collaboration.
In further contributing to the big picture, this role will have the opportunity to diversify their skills by providing assistance to the software development teams based in New Zealand. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Champion Seequent’s Energy portfolio (Leapfrog Energy, Oasis Montaj, Central, Volsung, and Evo), including internal training to staff.
- Share expert‑level product knowledge, workflows, and integrated solutions with new and existing users in the Energy sector.
- Deliver training sessions on Leapfrog Energy, Oasis Montaj, Central (1–2 sessions per month).
- Publish white papers and present at conferences on behalf of Seequent and in collaboration with clients.
- Provide remote technical support and work through examples on screen.
- Deliver a range of user support interactions, including face‑to‑face, web meetings, and/or emails, and managing these to a successful resolution.
- Proactively contact users via web meetings or in person to complete user health checks and embed software upgrades.
- Working with the commercial team (Account Managers and Inside Sales) to further opportunities by:
- Use Seequent’s information platforms to understand client portfolios, user diversity, and organizational structures.
- Keep client accounts in CRM updated (health checks, software upgrades, user updates, training, etc.) to ensure accurate and current information.
- Communicate customer feedback to software development and product teams—acting as the voice of the customer in North America.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the Energy sector, ideally in geothermal, CCS, or related subsurface domains.
- Proven experience in geological and geophysical modeling, with a strong understanding of subsurface workflows.
- Experience with reservoir modeling is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical training or workshops, both in‑person and virtually.
- Familiarity with Seequent Solutions (e.g., Leapfrog Energy, Oasis Montaj, and Volsung) is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is required, proficiency in French or Spanish is considered an asset.
Location and additional Information
This is a full‑time role at a minimum of 3 days per week. Occasional business travel up to 30% of the time may be required.
