Overview

Reporting to the Property Controller, the Bilingual Property Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly financial reports for assigned properties and portfolios and assisting with the preparation of annual budgets as well as quarterly re-forecasts.

The Bilingual Property Accountant is accountable for the completion of month-end closings, including those for revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenses.

Responsibilities

1. Relationship Development: Develop and foster positive relationships with stakeholders and ensure timely resolution of inquiries.
2. Ongoing Operations: Reconcile bank accounts, manage cash flow, and prepare fund requests.
3. Administration and Reporting: Perform month-end financial reporting duties, prepare and post monthly journal entries, and assist with year-end audit preparation.

Requirements

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting or related field;
- Minimum 2 years of financial accounting experience;
- Actively pursuing a Canadian Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) considered an asset;
- Strong command of MS Office with emphasis on MS-Excel;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Strong aptitude for working in a deadline-oriented environment;
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Detail-oriented with attention to accuracy;
- Fluently bilingual in English and French is a requirement.
