About the Role

Finance Business Partner – Montreal or Toronto

The Finance Business Partner will play a key role in financial reporting, planning, analysis, and strategic decision-support across multiple business units. This role partners closely with operational and commercial teams to deliver insights that drive performance, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

- Prepare and review financial statements, including month-end reporting and financial reconciliations.
- Ensure all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and regulations.
- Participate in audit engagements and compliance requirements, including the IFRS transition.

Financial Analysis & Business Partnering

- Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies.
- Support business leaders with data-driven decision-making on pricing, budgeting, investments, and cost optimization.
- Challenge and influence key business decisions to ensure alignment with financial objectives and long-term growth.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities to improve business performance.
- Support cost-control initiatives and efficiency-improvement efforts.
- Provide financial input into strategic planning, operational reviews, and project assessments.

Budgeting and Forecasting

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance-analysis processes.
- Prepare and present monthly management reports covering key financial metrics, trends, and drivers.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA highly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in accounting or finance (Big 4 experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience in M&A or integration work.
- Exposure to software or technology businesses.
- Familiarity with decentralized or multi-entity organizational structures.
