Canlan Sports is the largest private-sector owner and operator of recreational sports complexes in North America. Canlan is currently looking for a Coordinator, Camps and Instructional Programs (hybrid) to work at our York Central Office.
Job Summary
The Coordinator, Camps and Instructional Programs is responsible for the general administration of Camps and Instructional Programs at Canlan Sports, including Learn to Skate, as well as Canlan's introductory hockey programs – Level Up and Skills and Drills.
The role is essential to the operations of this programming across sports complexes in Canada and the United States, ensuring that product build-outs are completed accurately, while contributing meaningfully to business insights and decisions, product innovation, and more.
Simply put, we're looking for someone who is passionate about introductory sports programming, diligent about their work, and capable of bringing positive energy and proactivity to our team to ensure our instructional program experiences are best-in-class
Accountabilities
1. Product Build Outs and Administration: Responsible for product buildouts in-line with established standards to facilitate front-end registration from customers.
2. Website QA: Performs QA analysis on digital customer-facing properties to ensure that registration experiences are consistent with expectations.
3. Waitlist Management: Works with complex teams to manage waitlists, develop conversion metrics, and make recommendations on capacity utilizations for future programs.
4. Business Insights: Assists in developing market analyses, program trends, and competitive analysis to help shape future program decision making.
5. Committee Work: Takes a leadership role with an assigned committee to help innovate and improve product offerings to create better customer experiences.
Qualification and Education
1. Diploma or Degree in Business, Recreation, Facility Management or a combination of experience and education.
2. Certification in Standard First Aid/AED an asset.
3. Possess and/or willing to obtain and submit a satisfactory vulnerable sector police check.
Abilities, Attributes and Experience
1. Two (2) to five (5) years successful experience in a Sports related business.
2. Demonstrated experience in a camp or instructional program role and current/previous sports and recreational participant would be considered an asset.
3. Superior computer skills and ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software tools.
4. Demonstrated expertise with existing program management software would be considered an asset.
5. Proven ability to work in a flexible work environment with a combination of independent and team-based work, requiring adaptability and the ability to be a self-starter.
