Your new role

As a Medical Education Associate Director, you will oversee the overall medical education strategic plan for the cardiometabolic TA including identifying unmet learning needs and developing a comprehensive medical education strategy, tactical plan, and budget. The comprehensive strategy will include a deep understanding of Medical Education principles, Canadian regulatory frameworks, learning journeys, delivery methods, formats, and measurement plans. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Identifying and prioritising unmet learning needs and target audiences aligned with the cardiometabolic medical strategy

- Ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations and standards on accredited and unaccredited (learning) programs.

- Building and managing relationships with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) organisations, independent medical education providers, Health Care Societies and Professional Organizations who deliver education and other relevant stakeholders.

- Managing relationships with and identifying Global, National and Regional Canadian speakers in line with the learning objectives of the programs

- Developing the Medical Education portion of the Cardiometabolic Brand Plan, including congresses, symposia, online and other asynchronous/omnichannel offerings

- Creating a meaning measurement plan that demonstrates the impact of the medical education initiatives to improvements in clinical practice and patient outcomes

- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal medical, commercial, and sales colleagues.

- Working closely with Learning Programs Operations teams to track program success measures and deliver needs assessments.

- Acting as a mentor to other Medical Education Managers and others to advise on medical education principles and programs.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

- University or advanced degree in a Sciences, or education.

- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a specific focus on medical education

- Project management knowledge and experience managing cross-functional and complex projects.

- Continuing Health Education (CHE) Certification (e.g., CCCEP or other) or willingness to complete within 1 year of starting the role.

- Strong fundamentals in the Canadian Regulatory and Compliance landscape governing Medical Education including but not limited to Health Canada Guidance, Innovations Medicines Canada (IMC) and PAAB.

- Bilingual in English and French (Nice to have)

- Therapeutic Area expertise in the cardiometabolics including Diabetes, obesity or cardiology (Nice to have)
