Preform Equipment is a formwork equipment and crane rental company. We are owner-operated and offer a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role in a growing company, with the autonomy to shape operations and logistics from the ground up. You will have the chance to build a new yard, implement new inventory systems, and directly contribute to the company's success.
If you have experience in formwork, crane and hoist management, and concrete placement logistics, this is the perfect role for you.
Preform is a proud member of the Lawen Group of Companies
Job Overview:
We are seeking an Equipment & Inventory Manager to oversee our expanding operations. This role is ideal for someone with experience in formwork systems (DOKA or PERI), construction equipment management, and concrete placement logistics.
You will be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining equipment, coordinating deliveries, and overseeing the logistics of formwork, hoisting systems, and cranes, all while playing a key role in setting up and organizing a new yard with a mobile office, software, and ensuring compliance for crane and hoist operations.
This is a high-responsibility, independent role, reporting directly to the owner.
What you will be doing:
1. Equipment & Inventory Management
- Oversee and track DOKA formwork equipment, including decking, vertical shores, and column/wall systems.
- Manage inventory and equipment for concrete placement operations, including booms and accessories.
- Maintain and organize equipment for efficient tracking and accessibility.
- Implement and train on rental inventory management software.
- Purchase additional equipment as needed to support ongoing projects.
2. Yard & Logistics Coordination
- Set up and manage an industrial yard with a mobile office.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for rental.
- Organize and schedule deliveries and returns of equipment to/from job sites.
- Work with formwork contractors, concrete placing teams, and rental partners to meet timelines.
3. Crane, Hoist & High-Rise Equipment Management
- Oversee the Potain MDT 389 16-ton flathead crane rental and maintenance.
- Manage material and personnel hoists for high-rise construction projects.
- Ensure all compliance paperwork, inspections, and certifications are up to date for cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
- Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance and operation needs.
- Work with concrete placing teams to ensure smooth equipment logistics for high-rise projects.
- Manage booms, pumps, and necessary accessories for concrete placement.
- Ensure safety protocols and best practices are followed in all lifting and placing operations.
4. Administrative & Reporting
- Process rental agreements, invoices, and equipment tracking documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment use, maintenance schedules, and rental periods.
- Report directly to the owner on inventory levels, equipment needs, and operational efficiencies.
What you bring to the table:
- Experience in formwork rental, equipment management, or construction logistics.
- Knowledge of DOKA or PERI formwork systems is preferred.
- Experience with concrete placing operations, including booms and pumps, is a strong asset.
- Experience managing material and personnel hoists for high-rise construction.
- Ability to set up and operate a yard facility, including organizing storage and logistics.
- Familiarity with crane operation compliance and maintenance requirements.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in equipment management software and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and certificates to operate or coordinate heavy equipment transport.
What we offer:
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Performance-based bonuses.
- Mentorship and direct report to a premier developer.
- Health benefits package.
- Opportunity for career growth as the company expands.
Work Environment:
Based out of our parent company's Head Office on Barrington St with frequent visits to sites and storage yard. This role is immersed in the construction culture, which may mean extended hours, exposure to the elements, and the challenge of meeting significant physical requirements that come with the territory. Are you in?
While we do appreciate all applicants, only those selected to move on to the interview process will be contacted.
