Many of the youth we serve either live in low-income families, have mental health challenges, or have never had a connection with a church. Job Title: Youth Worker

Reports to: Chilliwack Area Director

Classification: Full-time or Part-Time

Location: Chilliwack

About Youth Unlimited

Flowing out of the mission of Jesus, Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited relationally engages in holistic work (physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual) with vulnerable youth in partnership with the church and the community.

General Description

In this position, the youth worker would:

1. Provide spaces for youth to learn about Jesus
2. Support youth in school (academics, arts, shop class, sports, lunchtime, and more)
3. Run clubs, hang out times, and day trips
4. Mentor and disciple youth one-to-one
5. Build a volunteer team
6. Create partnerships between Youth Unlimited and churches, schools, and community agencies
7. Create a team of ministry partners who help fund the youth worker’s salary, benefits, and ministry expenses.

What must the candidate possess to thrive in the position?

1. An active and healthy relationship with Jesus
2. A passion to help youth come to know Jesus
3. A deep concern for vulnerable youth
4. Active in a local church
