Objective & Overview

The Financial & Payroll Team Lead will lead a team of three (3) to four (4) direct reports. The incumbent role is to manage P&L operations according to best practices and procedures, provide direct assistance to the General Manager in budgeting, forecasting and month-end analysis, red flag unconformity and over expense to budget, assist during budget periods in line with Performance and Group objectives, target and progress plan.

Responsibilities

1. Safety: Champion a safety culture by setting and enforcing rigorous safety standards across all operations.
2. Financial management: Lead financial analysis and reporting for the GMA area, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
3. Payroll & HR: Lead payroll operations for 7 GMA sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance for over 150 unionized employees.
4. Payables: Direct the coordination of budget and cost management across GMA sites.
5. Administration: Lead onboarding, training, and mentorship for new hires.

Relationship with Others

1. Reports to the General Manager
2. Works closely with the Operations Manager, Commercial Manager, Production Eng., Procurement and support function from the Group (Finance, AP, etc.)

Specific Accountabilities:

1. P & L allocation of revenue, cost, inventory and SPC
2. Budgeting and Forecast
3. Payroll processing, accuracy and timeliness
4. Management of best practice and processes

Dimensions

1. 6 M Tons of aggregates production
2. Recycled Materials (450,000 tons) Inert Fill (600,000 tons) and Snow Dump (2 M cubic meters)
3. 250,000 Tons of asphalt
4. 4 direct reports (AP, Payroll, Finance & general administrative support)

Qualification Profile

Education & Work Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Management.
2. 5 to 7 years of related experience.
3. Strong financial and management experience.
4. Experience in Aggregate and Asphalt operation business environment is an asset.
