POSITION SUMMARY
Due to growth in our practice areas, the Vancouver office is currently seeking a Paralegal to our Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group. The position will require a confident and reliable individual to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. The successful applicant must be team-oriented and accustomed to working as a team with other lawyers, paraprofessionals, and legal support professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Daily file management through all stages of the legal process to ensure compliance with deadlines and court and client requirements
2. Communicating directly with clients and opposing parties to coordinate and communicate progress and issue resolution
3. Conducting and reviewing due diligence searches and preparing appropriate summary and/or reporting documents
4. Preparing various documents and pleadings including demand letters, statutory notices, notices of civil claim, default judgment, application materials and records, etc.
5. Managing property listings for judicial sales
6. E-filing and paper filing court documents as required
7. Arranging for service and filing of court documents
8. Other duties as required and assigned
REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a paralegal working on secured mortgage/foreclosure files on behalf of financial institutions
2. Strong understanding of foreclosure processes and related legal terminology
3. Strong understanding of the BC Rules of Court
4. Paralegal certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution (preferred)
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
6. High attention to detail and accuracy
7. Advanced critical and strategic thinking skills
8. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
9. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
10. Ability to foster strong working relationships by working collaboratively in a team setting
11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to learn internal computer systems and processes
12. Experience with iManage or other document management systems preferred

The expected salary range for this role is $70,000- $95,000, commensurate with experience. At Dentons, we are committed to offering equitable and competitive pay, aligning internal salary ranges for specific roles to similar positions in the external market.
