The Opportunity

- The eBay Global Marketing team is responsible for driving long term, sustainable growth for the eBay brand and its focus categories. Within the Global Marketing org, the Global Media team is looking for a Paid Social Media Specialist to support our North American paid social efforts. They will be responsible for delivering our brand message and reasons to believe in eBay, targeting audiences across social platforms through paid media tactics and fostering scalable growth through the funnel—all with an eye to lifting brand salience.

The Team

eBay's Global Marketing team is responsible for acquiring and retaining high-value buyers and sellers. We are eBay's central digital marketing function, owning performance marketing, partnerships, programmatic display & social, SEM, Customer Marketing, related analytics, brand and marketing technology platforms. Through these platforms and programs, we play a key role in delivering compelling and inspiring marketing experiences with Global scale to acquire and retain customers to eBay.

The Job

Within Global Marketing, eBay's Performance Marketing team is looking for a Social Media Specialist to:

- Drive Paid Social Media strategy, plan and implement comprehensive marketing programs and tests through partnership with external agencies and platforms, internal marketing teams and other partners.

- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional partners to develop and launch analytically-sound A/B and multivariate tests, measure impact, capture customer takeaways, refine successive tests, and scale successes.

- Challenge the status quo and drive innovation, expansion of new creative formats, technologies, tracking, and media formats.

- Own and drive a sizable progress on key critical metrics through the funnel from awareness to revenue via intelligent and iterative experimentation to continuously elevate performance marketing.

- Deeply analyze and understand current performance marketing practices of related marketing channels and key competitors in order to identify potential opportunities.

- Continuously generate ideas to improve eBay's digital marketing performance including campaign strategy, audience management, creative optimization and bidding.

- Ensure alignment of tests, campaigns, and paid social activity across cross functional teams and market partners.

Key Skills For Success

The right candidate will have a creative attitude and be proficient with digital and social channels, traffic partners and full funnel performance measurement. The right candidate will:

- 3+ years of professional experience in paid digital media with at least 2 years in paid social media platforms.

- Knowledge of the online advertising industry, social media platforms and capabilities, industry trends, and technologies.

- Proven career wins in developing and optimizing Paid Social Media strategies.

- Extensive hands-on experience on Social Media Platforms, particularly Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Snapchat.

- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and through influence and collaboration achieve ambitious goals while strengthening relationships.

- Experienced in managing external agencies/technologies and partners and working with internal, cross functional teams in a sophisticated and large organization.

- Be operationally organized, detailed oriented and comfortable adhering to cadences and processes.

- Consumer-obsessed with a passion for social media. Agile thinker, team-oriented and solution-focused.

- Comfortable with data and measurement that quantifies performance and impact.

- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and partner management.

- Possesses the courage to recommend changes that will improve business outcomes, but is mindful of preserving relationships, collaboration and agreement to establish trust with peers, leadership and partners. An excellent communicator.

- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
