Please note that this role will be on-site at our office in Burlington, Ontario (497 Elizabeth Street). Once settled into the role, the position will become four days in-office and one day remote.

We are looking for a Benefits Analyst to join our team in Burlington. This position can be hybrid – that is, working from a home office and from WP's Burlington offices as required.

What you will do:

- Manage rate resets (aka, renewals)

- vet/analyse data (factors used, claims information), negotiate renewals, review plan design/recommend changes; write/send reports

- Ensure renewal deadlines/notice periods met; follow-up/discuss renewal reports with client. Create renewal memos for staff as needed

- Experience reports

- ensure reports are run throughout each month, vet data entry, analyse data, write commentary, send reports

- Ensure experience report contact list kept up to date

- Costings – request/analyse/negotiate carrier costings for plan changes; prepare and send to client in timely fashion; follow-up/discuss costings with clients
- Newsletters – research and write article or recommend topics (monthly)
- Research – industry trends and industry products and communicate these to staff (throughout the month) and clients
- Research – claims experience data and specifically, in context to Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) coordination
- Oversee Employee and Family Assistance Program agreements for all clients

What you need to be successful in this role:

- 4yrs+ Experience working in Group Benefits/Group Insurance Industry
- Very good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong research, critical thinking and organizational skills
- Strong communication/writing skills
- Self-starter, independent but also team player
- Maintain/foster good relationships with clients and providers

All Star Candidates will have:

- Completed courses in group benefits (ex. CEBS/LLQP)
- Previous First Nations/Indigenous Employer experience
