Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees. How will you create an impact?The Manager, Indigenous Mental Wellness and Clinical Integration is a member of the Indigenous Health & Wellness Leadership Team and acts in a leadership and advisory capacity to Clinical Operations and the Clinical Networks, in particular, Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) within the Clinical Networks in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of regional services to meet the needs of Indigenous peoples accessing Interior Health (IH). Working collaboratively with the MHSU Network and Clinical Operations, the Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the IH Indigenous Mental Wellness Plan in a way that is relevant to the values and strategic direction of the organization, with the goal of enhancing the organization’s capacity to deliver health services in a culturally safe manner. The Manager is responsible for collaborating with Clinical Operations and Clinical Networks to improve services for Indigenous clients, including transitions in care and discharge planning, access and equity of services, and processes and clinical standards that increase culturally safe experiences of care.Using research, professional networks, and provincial standards and mandates, the Manager will work collaboratively with other IH portfolios to develop systems and processes that improve Indigenous patient care and are operationally- and culturally-sound, providing leadership to program specialists and other content experts. Through IH-wide standardization, the Manager, Indigenous Mental Wellness and Clinical Integration ensures clear direction for the provision of care and regional services for Indigenous persons throughout the Clinical services and Networks; provides leadership to program specialists and other content experts that ensure integration of Indigenous Services across IH; and provides functional leadership across IH. Externally, the Manager represents Indigenous Mental Wellness and Indigenous Clinical Integration issues related to program planning and the fulfillment of provincial directions in health by maintaining ongoing working relationships with local, regional, provincial, and national programs and committees. The Manager works collaboratively with the Indigenous Engagement team to build and maintain partnerships with First Nations, Métis, and urban and rural Indigenous Health Service Organizations.What will you work on: • Improves meaningful access to culturally-safe, trauma-informed services; ensures services are culturally-safe and trauma-informed; engages with and collects input from Indigenous patients, their families, and communities along with providers and other organizations to develop and make improvements to programs and services; integrates alternate service delivery models that meet the needs of Indigenous patients; and ensures care is coordinated and timely.• Interior Health would like to recognize and acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Dãkelh Dené,• Ktunaxa, Nlaka’pamux, Secwépemc, St’át’imc, syilx, and Tŝilhqot’in Nations where we live, learn, collaborate and work together.• Manager, Indigenous Mental Wellness & Clinical Integration_JDID_800221 Page 2 of 4• Effectively facilitates dialogue, identifies potential crisis responses, assesses situations, and manages conflict within a fast-paced service delivery environment to improve the safety of care and eliminate racism in health service delivery, utilizing specialized skills and knowledge.• Develops, implements, and supports regional strategies and plans to address IH’s strategic direction and priorities of the Indigenous Partnerships Portfolio.• Develops and maintains respectful partnerships with Indigenous Communities and organizations, in collaboration and alignment with the Indigenous Engagement team.• Collaborates with IH Clinical Operations, Clinical Networks - specifically MHSU - and Indigenous partners to support and oversee an integrated and networked health delivery system that improves the mental health and care of Indigenous people in IH communities in an effective and sustainable manner.• With other IH portfolios, provides an integrated system of care services with the following objectives:o Achieve improved health outcomes for Indigenous patients with moderate to severe mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders.o Reduce the harms for Indigenous clients experiencing impacts of the toxic drug crisis.o Improve transitions in care and discharge experiences of Indigenous clients.o Provide effective access and navigation of the community-based healthcare system for Indigenous patients, families, and caregivers.o Engage Indigenous patients, families, caregivers, and communities as full partners in health care delivery.o Establish partnerships to promote mental health and prevent illness in Indigenous individuals, families, and target populations.• Ensures the tactical regional plans and service delivery activities are aligned and contribute to the successful achievement of the IH Indigenous Health and Wellness Strategy.• Plans, evaluates, monitors, and reports on regional Indigenous Mental Wellness to ensure optimal delivery of responsibilities on an ongoing basis; ensures indicators are relevant to learned outcomes.• Works with the Division of Family Practice in ensuring that Indigenous Mental Wellness Services are sensitive to and aligned to supportive, effective, and integrated primary and community care.• Ensures that Patients Voices are fully integrated into the full spectrum of service design, delivery, and quality of care.• Ensures the tactical planning, financial and business operations, and service delivery activities of the Program align with, contribute to successful achievement of the organization’s strategic services plan and deliverables, and are working towards ensuring public confidence in health system performance.• Interior Health would like to recognize and acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Dãkelh Dené,• Ktunaxa, Nlaka’pamux, Secwépemc, St’át’imc, syilx, and Tŝilhqot’in Nations where we live, learn, collaborate and work together.• Fosters an environment that embraces and supports innovation and evidence-based research to inform local decision-making and develop enhanced regional practices and protocols.• Provides leadership for other services, programs, or projects as assigned by Corporate Director, Indigenous Health & Wellness.• Works collaboratively with the Indigenous Health & Wellness, which will ensure vertical and horizontal integration, meeting the standards as set by Accreditation Canada.• Managers staff including assigning work, recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, performance management, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, and termination, as required.• Develops and recommends a budget;
