The Rights and Title Department of the shíshálh Nation is tasked with managing the application process for land-use and related applications that may infringe on the rights and title of the shíshálh Nation. As such, the department aligns our work with shíshálh policies, frameworks, and agreements, including shíshálh policies related to archaeology.

We are hiring a Business Coordinator for a six-month Independent Contract to support the department’s growing workload. The successful Contractor will assist with coordinating our archaeological contracting program, working closely with our service providers and other departments within the Nation.

Scope of Service:

- Facilitate communication between departments and with service providers to the Nation related to archaeology services, contracts, and payments.
- Manage workflows and maintain timelines and deadlines for services, contracts, payments and deliverables.
- Provide administrative support such as maintaining records, scheduling meetings and reviewing invoices from service providers.
- Use project management tools to improve processes and reduce errors and delays.
- Track budget health and coordinate contracts and change orders.
- Advise on policies and procedures related to the role.
- Perform all other duties within the scope of the contract as requested.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

- Post-secondary school degree or diploma related to business management, or related experience with business management, project management, and office administration.
- Experience working with financial flows and invoicing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail and timelines.
- Ability to multitask and to respond to changing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with internal communication, coordinating service providers, and facilitating workflows.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience convening meetings, setting agendas, and taking meeting minutes.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to understand and maintain systems of confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the department team.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
