Class 1 Linehaul Truck Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION
Midland Transport Limited is currently seeking professional Class 1 Linehaul Truck Drivers - US Triangle. The Driver can be based out of any major city in the Maritimes including, but not limited to Fredericton, Moncton, Halifax, Saint John and Charlottetown.
The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and strong commitment to providing Superior Quality Service.

- Canadian miles: $0.554 per mile.
- USA miles paid in CAD: $0.578 per mile.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Running Linehaul from the Maritimes into United States eastern seaboard, into Ontario/Quebec and then back to the Maritimes.
- Deliver freight to assigned locations ensuring timely delivery.
- Offload variable shipment weight and handle freight equipment properly and in a safe manner to avoid any damage.
- Communicate efficiently with the central dispatch and customers.
- Operate the tractor trailer in accordance with the safety regulation: company rules while following safety procedures and traffic laws.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the truck operation.
- Report any incident, accident, injury or damage in a timely manner.
- Willingness to work linehaul legs into the United States, including New York and New Jersey.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Education Required: High School or GED.
- Class 1 driver/'s license with a minimum of 3 years of safe tractor trailer driving experience in North America required.
- Clean driver/'s abstract and criminal search.
- Eligibility to receive a FAST card.
- Eligibility to cross the border with US.
- Familiarity with satellite systems.
- Excellent communication skills, work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
- Safety conscious.
- Must have flexibility to work various shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends.
