Position Summary

1. Ensure parks, open spaces, and outdoor amenities are safe, clean, and accessible.
2. Responsible for park and sports field maintenance, including grass trimming and cutting, leaf/grass raking, diamond infield care, trash and litter collection.
3. Maintenance and care for dog park areas including grass trimming, minor fence maintenance, and litter collection.
4. Minor maintenance and care of park playground surfaces and structures.
5. Minor maintenance of splash pads and daily cleaning of surfacing.
6. Cleaning of park and sports field public washrooms and documentation.
7. Clean and maintain park furniture including benches, trash cans, picnic tables, and BBQs.
8. Park special event support and customer service interactions with users.
9. Perform traffic control duties in accordance with Book 7.
10. Assist with general road crew labourer duties including shoveling and raking.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Shift hours of operation are between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm, (Monday to Sunday). Must be available to start full-time work as of May 5, 2025, with varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications, Competencies

1. MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME SECONDARY OR POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2025 – Verification will be required.
2. Preference will be given to applicants with a valid Class 'G' driver's licence.
3. Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability, and Innovation.

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands

1. Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
2. Proven customer service skills.
3. Proof of immunity to Tetanus and Hepatitis B may be required prior to start date.
4. Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions.
5. Must be able to follow instructions and complete daily work assignments.
6. Must provide and wear CSA approved protective footwear.
7. Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check at candidate's own expense.
