Position Profile

We are currently recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanics (experienced CL/waterbomber) to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engines, performing repairs, replacements, and adjustments in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

- Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Maintenance Technician in an AMO environment
- Receive direction from the assigned leader verbally and through printed media
- Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, and manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulic, flight controls and major components)
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair systems and equipment including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear and electrical
- Perform system checks and inspections to ensure systems are compliant with industry and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area; report safety concerns and unsafe conditions
- Ensure accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
- Perform other work as assigned and be willing to work shift work
- Utilize maintenance test equipment to perform system tests and maintain hand tools for installations and repairs
- Safely operate ground support equipment as required

Education & Experience

- 1-5 years’ experience working on the CL
- Shall hold or be working towards a current AME “M” Transport Canada license or related experience
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products is considered an asset

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work Monday – Friday 0600-1430
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued RAIC
