BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and looking to bring on a sharp, curious, and self-directed Data Analyst who’s ready to make an immediate impact.
Who We Are
Founded in 2006, BIS is proudly headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta. We have developed a world class software solution by emphasizing client relationships and continuous innovation, and we are looking to continue our growth across North America and around the world.
About the Role
Do you love finding the story behind the numbers? Are you a data detective who thrives on turning chaos into clarity? This onsite position based out of our Sherwood Park, Alberta office, is designed for someone who enjoys close collaboration with cross-functional teams and has a strong appetite for digging into data and surfacing insights that drive real business decisions.
In this role, you'll be expected to:
- Pull data from multiple sources (BIS platform, HubSpot, Google Analytics/Ads, accounting/finance tools) and validate it to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Build and deliver clear, decision-ready weekly and monthly reports (slides, PDFs, dashboards).
- Clean, combine, and maintain data with consistent methodology.
- Sanity-check numbers with subject matter experts across departments and document metric definitions, assumptions, and sources.
- Investigate data discrepancies or gaps and coordinate with data owners to resolve them.
- Proactively flag and address inconsistencies in tagging, missing data fields, and testing artifacts.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from leadership, quickly sourcing and visualizing key metrics.
- Support the shift from manual reporting to automated dashboards through tools like Power BI or Amazon QuickSight.
You might be the right fit if you:
- Have a minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on analytics or reporting experience and thrive in individual contributor roles.
- Are fluent in Excel and experienced with BI/reporting tools like Power BI or Amazon QuickSight.
- Are self-motivated with a “data detective” mindset. You know how to find data that’s not readily available and explain how you did it.
- Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can turn messy data into a compelling story.
- Work well cross-functionally and persistently follow up to close data gaps.
- Can balance speed and accuracy (knowing when 95% confidence is enough to move forward).
- Have high attention to detail, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership and confidentiality.
- Adapt quickly to new systems and thrive in ambiguous situations.
- Bring clarity to complexity through documentation and clear processes.
Bonus points if you have:
- Exposure to SQL or relational databases.
- Exposure to HubSpot reporting, Google Analytics (GA4), Microsoft Dynamics.
- Previous work experience in a SaaS or e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of KPI dashboards, funnel analytics, marketing attribution, and ROI tracking.
$80,000 - $90,000 a year
Salary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role. In addition to this salary, we offer full medical (health, dental, and vision) coverage as well as life insurance and disability insurance.
Why join us
At BIS, we pride ourselves in being very entrepreneurial in nature. Our office is an open environment that lends itself to collaboration and organic learning. We integrate new ideas and best practices quickly when they further the development of our software and company. This flexibility is a key part of our culture and a reflection of our insightful and collaborative team.
Another key part of our culture is our purposeful avoidance of titles. We don’t use job titles as they don’t reflect the value we place on humility. And we lead with our heart, treating all our customers and team members with integrity and compassion.
We are looking for like-minded individuals who are interested in growing with us.
