Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Risk Engineering Specialist – Account Engineering to coordinate service programs for large, local account programs and provides risk assessment and risk improvement services for customers and business partners to meet the appropriate risk standards. Reporting to the AVP - Liability and Account Engineering, ZRS you will develop and maintain long-term customer relationships. You will also act as a mentor/resource to other risk engineers in coordinating services or delivering risk assessment and risk improvement services to customers and business partners.

What you will do -
1. Assesses the quality of complex risks, mainly for key/strategic assets.
2. Risk assessments frequently cross applicable lines of business or industries and include desk top assessments and reviews of assessments from Zurich Risk Engineers or other approved sources.
3. Assesses loss potentials in compliance with Zurich defined methodologies and standards.
4. Develop Customer Service Plans to help drive efficient field service.
5. Ensures the delivery and quality of services to the account as well as ensures consistency of assessments, risk improvement advice, reporting and time & expense management.
6. Communicates effectively with field risk engineers and nurtures relationships with industry partners such as brokers and customers.
7. Supports external customers by identifying, assessing and reducing the risks that their key / strategic assets face and on an overall account basis.
8. Provides basic risk benchmarking services and account-wide risk improvement programs for the account to key stakeholders.
9. Provides expert advice on risk management issues to internal business partners and external customers by being a strategic partner to the customer's Risk Manager and by providing extensive risk insights.
10. Acts as an expert and mentor within the Network on matters relating to Risk Engineering assessments and to the coordination of service programs.
11. Explores new service area opportunities, develops new lines of business or customer services and identifies areas for cross-selling.
12. Meets realistic expectations of customers and Underwriting.
13. Manages change within the account by keeping in close contact with customer management and business partners, reviewing new projects and plans for change.
14. Responsible for conducting cost estimations (bundled and unbundled) and budget controls of the account.
15. Demonstrates a profound understanding of the RE network, functions, procedures and responsibilities.
16. Business Travel, as required.
17. Extended Hours during Peak Periods, as required.
18. Maintain a Valid Driver's License, as required.
19. Regular Predictable Attendance.
Job Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Required
1. Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Property and/or Liability.
2. OR
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Property and/or Liability.
4. OR
5. Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Property and/or Liability.
AND
Knowledge of exposures, controls and best practice risk improvement actions.
Preferred
1. Industry credentials such as CRM, CIP, etc.
