Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist the Strategic Supply Chain Manager and work closely with the Strategic Supply Chain Specialist to procure materials, supplies, and equipment used by Med-Eng. They will also perform general service functions and other related tasks as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full range of assigned tasks under less supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Review purchase requisitions for completeness, evaluate procurement methods, determine specification requirements, and select vendors.
  • Secure and compare information on source of supply, price, quality, availability, terms, and conditions for various materials, supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Minimize transportation between plants by ensuring materials arrive at the correct plant when required according to MRP.
  • Issue purchase orders to procure commodities and equipment based on Med-Eng policy and prepare revisions to purchase orders when requirements change or costs exceed the original order.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting (AX) for internal visibility of material status and purchasing on-time delivery.
  • Monitor contracts and orders, expedite delivery, compare invoices to purchase orders, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Escalate disputes, delivery dates, material shortages, and other issues to the Strategic Supply Chain Specialist for resolution.
  • Explain policies and procedures to individuals needing to procure materials, services, and supplies, and ensure compliance with approved purchasing policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a degree/diploma from an accredited college or university in business administration, commerce, materials management, or a related field.
  • Certificate: Certified Purchasing Professional or Certified in Production and Inventory Management is desirable.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a buyer.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of purchasing in the private sector, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Previous experience procuring materials, equipment, and supplies commonly used in electronics and soft-goods manufacturing.
