Full-time position: Equine Sports Medicine Clinician and/or Surgeon. Join our team of board certified and board eligible surgeons (DACVS) and experienced medicine clinicians at Delaney Veterinary Services We are the largest primary and referral practice for Northern Alberta, located in Sherwood Park, Canada.
About the Arena: Sherwood Park is a peaceful community just outside Edmonton, located 3-4 hours from world renowned Banff and Jasper National Parks and 1 hour from lakes ideal for fishing and boating. Our community offers country living with a low population density, scenic surroundings ideal for hiking, camping, hunting, and winter sports such as cross-country skiing as well as Northern lights watching Known as Festival City, Edmonton and surrounding areas offer summer music, arts and food festivals as well as weekly national and local horse events including jumping, rodeo, barrel racing, roping, and multi- breed horse shows within 2 hours. Adding to this, a new multipurpose agricultural facility has just opened 20 minutes from our hospital. Edmonton is the home of professional sports teams including the Oilers (NHL) and the Elks (CFL). About the Position: Duties for the position will include daily lameness examinations, as well as lameness evaluations in the surrounding areas. Surgical and after-hours duties will be determined according to the selected candidate’s capabilities with work divided equally among the team.

Our facility: is equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical suite with two recovery rooms, intensive care barn, consultation rooms with stocks prepared for regular and specialty standing procedures, a 3-meter and 1.5-meter endoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, dental endoscopy, recently upgraded portable digital radiography and ultrasonography, lameness locator, and extracorporeal shockwave. We are affiliated with Westana Equine Rehabilitation Center located less than an hour from the clinic.
At Delaney Veterinary Services we strive to provide a healthy working environment with plenty of support staff, as well as mentorship and consulting immediately available within our different specialties. Applicants must be in completion of good standing of DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university (or completed NEB accreditation for non-accredited universities) and eligible for licensure in the province of Alberta.
