Communications Advisor (Permanent – Full-time)

The Role:

Join The Foundation's Communications and Marketing team to help elevate the inspiring story of our community, of The Winnipeg Foundation, and its stakeholders. As a Communications Advisor, you will have a broad range of skills and employ diverse mediums—written, audio, and video—to convey narratives across various platforms. Your skills will be proficient in support of The Foundation's social media activities, websites, magazines, podcasts, video and more.

Core Areas of Responsibility:

Content Creation

1. Actively determining opportunities for content creation that supports TWF messaging
2. Supporting and collaborating with other teams to develop purpose-driven tools and materials
3. Crafting written stories for use in digital, audio, video, and print publications
4. Creating graphics and visual elements for our platforms, including but not limited to social media, websites, advertisements, publications
5. Capturing photo and video content for use in digital and print platforms
6. Capturing audio content for use in podcast and radio content
7. Developing various advertising and marketing materials including but not limited to brochures and print/digital advertisements

Content Delivery

1. Monitoring stakeholders engaging with The Foundation through social media and other communication platforms
2. Ensuring content shared on The Foundation's platforms (ie. website and social media) are current and in keeping with brand standards
3. Creating a content calendar in collaboration with team members that outlines the content roadmap

Monitoring and Analytics

1. Monitoring and tracking analytics for all Foundation digital platforms, such as social media and websites
2. Creating analytical reports for strategic management related to activity on all Foundation platforms

Education and Experience

1. Diploma related to communications, marketing, public relations, and/or journalism
2. 3-5 years of experience working in content creation and management
3. Experience with the monitoring and generation of various analytical reports
4. A working knowledge of digital editing software, including Adobe products and Canva
5. Familiar with all social media platforms
6. Familiar with issues and emerging trends in communications and in the charitable sector

Skills and Abilities

1. Familiarity with Adobe environment and all social media platforms
2. Knowledge of issues and trends in the charitable sector
3. Creative with strong technical skills
4. Excellent verbal and written communication
5. Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills

1. Starting salary in the range of $58,000 to $69,700

The Recruitment Process

1. Job posting (2 weeks in circulation)
2. Phone screening – (conducted after the closing date; duration: 2 weeks)
3. First in-person interview (conducted within 2 weeks after phone screening interviews)
4. Project Presentation (Further details will be provided to prospective candidates)
5. Second in-person interview and project presentation (within 2 weeks after the first interview)
