Your Opportunity at SECURE

To support the ongoing growth of our business, we are currently seeking two highly motivated, energetic, and safety-oriented Labourers (Sandblasters) to join our team.

The Team

Reporting to our Welding Supervisor, the Sandblasters are primarily responsible for performing sandblasting operations to prepare our bins and general shop duties.

Work Environment

The shift is Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 12 am. There will be an additional shift premium for any hours worked during the afternoon shift. This is a full-time temporary position for 8 months with a potential for full season work depending on demand.

A Day in The Life

- Perform sandblasting operations to prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring proper adhesion and finish quality.
- Operate sandblasting equipment efficiently and safely, including sandblasting cabinets, blast rooms, and abrasive media.
- Inspect surfaces for cleanliness and proper preparation, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired results.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each project.
- Clean work area to eliminate possible hazards.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of equipment or materials.
- Manually lift heavy materials.
- Spot trucks and heavy equipment.
- Use any hand tools that may be required for tasks.
- Complete Pre-Job Hazard Assessments and Equipment Pre-Use Inspections.
- Other general labour duties as required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

- 1-2 years sandblasting experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to perform physical repetitive tasks with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work outside year-round in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience working in the industrial/metal industry is considered a strong asset.
- Loader experience is considered an asset.
