Job Description:
Our aircraft manufacturing client is looking for a Costing Manager. You will play a key role in managing, analyzing, and optimizing the company’s manufacturing cost structure. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust cost accounting systems, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed cost analysis to management, and driving cost efficiency across production operations. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost control mechanisms, and financial analysis to support data-driven decision-making. Located in London, Ontario fully on site role.
Responsibilities of the Costing Manager is as follows:
- Lead and manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and product cost updates.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on production costs, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify and control cost drivers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports, manufacturing KPIs, and profitability analysis by aircraft model product line or project.
- Support the annual budget and rolling forecast process by providing detailed cost projections and variance explanations.
- Perform cost simulations for new products and process changes to support pricing and investment decisions.
- Lead cost reduction, working capital reduction and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper inventory valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to improve accuracy and timeliness of cost reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Provide coaching and technical support to junior finance staff and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 5- 10+ years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Key Characteristics:
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and manufacturing process flows.
- Experience in variance analysis, standard costing, and budgeting/forecasting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (Business Central experience is an asset).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify cost improvement opportunities.
