Biomedical Equipment Technician
Full Time Permanent (Monday-Friday 9-5)
London, Ontario

Located at our Head Office in London Ontario, we are currently recruiting for a fulltime permanent BMET. This recruit is for an available position to start as soon as the selected candidate is available. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at ProResp, you will assume responsibility for the maintenance and repair of medical respiratory equipment, be a subject matter expert providing technical advice and assistance to our branch locations, ship and receive medical equipment and parts, maintain inventory levels and occasionally assist in the medical gas filling plant.

Role Responsibilities:

- Maintenance and repair of medical respiratory equipment
- Providing technical advice and assistance regarding respiratory equipment
- Responsible for shipping and receiving of medical equipment and parts
- Maintaining technical services department in an orderly and clean fashion
- Maintaining current understandings of equipment and technical requirements and changes
- Attendance at recommended training courses or other forums
- Reading and comprehension of service literature and updates
- Manual reviews and application of service guidelines to ensure warranty and safety mandates to manufacturer specifications
- Ensuring a client safety focus in all recommendations and repair activities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including Worker's Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
- Acting as Medical Gas Technician backup for filling plant and deliveries as required

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

- Demonstrated theoretical and technical expertise (applicable to home respiratory equipment, or equivalent)
- Understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals, including AC/DC, digital, analog, and other solid-state electronic devices
- Proven bench/tool skill technique

Essential Duties:

- Occasional to frequent walking, standing and sitting; frequent lifting, pushing and pulling up to 48lbs; occasionally pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs

Education: College Diploma from a Biomedical Technician program. Consideration will be given to those who are Technicians or Technologists from an Electromechanical/Electrical program.

Hours of Work: 37.5hrs per week. Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
