Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to join our Program Management team. The Project Manager ensures the success of assigned projects through prudent management and oversight of all resources. The PM applies superior client service skills and project management best practices to deliver projects that meet financial and other objectives while exceeding client expectations. The successful candidate welcomes opportunities and challenges and brings superior consulting skills to each client interaction.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the approved scope, budget and schedule of projects.
2. Provide day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.
3. Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
4. Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and vendors.
5. Prepare reports for clients and other stakeholders.
6. Able to understand contracts and can assist with the negotiation of contracts.
7. Knows design and CA construction phases of project.
8. Review and approve all invoices and change orders associated with the project.
9. Evaluate, advise on, and assist in resolving disputes and claims.
10. Act as an ambassador of the company in all interactions with clients, consultants, and peers.

Qualifications

1. Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to perform well under the pressure of deadlines.
2. Adapts to a dynamic project environment and able to manage multiple tasks over an extended period.
3. Solid written communication skills.
4. Speaks clearly and persuasively with exceptional interpersonal skills.
5. Identifies open items and determines their impact on the critical path along with a proven ability to resolve same in a timely manner.
6. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal clients, external clients, and subcontractors.
7. Strong computer literacy in scheduling, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software.
8. Experience with budget management in a package or custom software.
9. Understanding of plans and specifications.
10. General understanding of design and construction process and requirements.
11. Strong leadership skills & the ability to move a team forward.
12. Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
13. Experience in large scale industrial or similar construction projects.
14. Familiarity with Ontario and/or Canadian Design and Construction.
15. Ability to travel and visit project site locations as required.

Education and Experience

1. A technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field would be an asset.
3. Minimum 8 years of related experience.
4. A Project Management certification such as PMP or an equivalent designation would be an asset.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
